Renowned for his contributions to Kannada cinema, Dr. V Nagendra Prasad, a versatile writer proficient in multiple languages, has amassed a remarkable body of work over three decades. With nearly 4000 songs to his credit (of which 3000 have been released), along with directorial ventures, musical compositions, and acting roles, he now assumes a pivotal position in ‘Krishnavathara’, a film that underscores the importance of preserving nature and the environment.
The unveiling of the title ‘Krishnavatara’ took place at S.R.V theater, featuring a distinctive gathering of esteemed members from the Kannada film industry. Notable figures such as senior cinematographer J.G. Krishna, music director V. Harikrishna, veteran publicist Ramakrishna, writer Malavalli Saikrishna, producer Ramakrishna, PR expert Ramakrishna, along with actor and director Naveen Krishna, congregated to reveal the title poster of ‘Krishnaavatara’.
Under the direction of emerging talent Siri Y.S.R, and with a storyline penned by Pawan Rao, ‘Krishnavathara’ is poised to captivate audiences. Guruprasad K helms production under the banner of Mayabazar Films, with Shubha Raksha and Triveni Raj portraying the leading female roles.
Dr. V Nagendra Prasad, discussing his role in ‘Krishnavathara’, emphasized the physical demands of the performance, notably the challenge of donning a costume weighing 16 kilograms for 15 consecutive days. He expressed his directorial vision, aiming to convey a novel narrative centered on environmental conservation.
In the film, Shubha Raksha assumes a prominent role, particularly in a song highlighting the significance of Ugadi, released on April 9th to coincide with the festival. Despite her admiration for the song, Shubha Raksha recounted the arduous conditions during filming, including navigating forest terrain and encountering snakes, resulting in numerous scratches.
Making her debut as an actor, Triveni Raj portrays a pregnant woman, the wife of Forest Guard Mahadeva, adding depth to the storyline.
Director Siri Y.S.R. attributed the film’s inception to producer Mrs. Shantakka, emphasizing the collective responsibility to coexist harmoniously with nature. The narrative delves into the repercussions of social media frenzy, shedding light on potential pitfalls.
Producer Guruprasad credited Nagendra Prasad as the driving force behind the project, highlighting the collaborative effort that brought the film to fruition.
Raja Shivashankar’s cinematography and ABM’s debut as an independent music director, supported by a talented ensemble including Vishwanath, Manasi Sudhir, Raghu Ramanakoppa, and Prakash Tumminad, enrich the cinematic experience of ‘Krishnavathara’.
