Naganath Joshi, one of the senior-most writers from the 1998 film Manetana and a key figure in the camps of B. Suresha, T.N. Seetharam, and others, passed away after suffering a cardiac arrest.
Naganath Joshi was a multi-talented personality, contributing to various directors’ projects in the writing department. His work included films like Mathadaana, Yakka, Vishnu, One Time, Raja Gharjane, and others.
He made his directorial debut with the Kannada film Jaala. In his film Goodu, based on a novel that explores the theme of life after death, he cast the 60-plus-year-old veteran director B. Ramamurthy in the lead role.
Naganath Joshi was a versatile figure in the industry, serving as an actor, director, producer, writer, studio owner, coordinator, and production manager. He was also a devout follower of Guru Raghavendra Swamy and experienced many ups and downs early in his life.
Known for his enthusiasm, Naganath Joshi’s departure at a relatively young age is deeply felt. May his soul rest in peace.
