MM Keeravani, the Oscar award-winning music director of the Telugu film RRR, is expanding his horizons into Kannada cinema by making his debut as a singer in the retro movie ‘Rangasamudra.’ Delivering a poignant song titled “Hatturina Deepavige Aride Aadharave Kusida Mele Enidhe Runavu Mugidaithu, Vidhiye Geddaithu…,” the acclaimed music director MM Keeravani dedicated half a day to produce this composition.

Although Keeravani has previously composed music for Kannada films and lent his voice, he returns after a decade, following his Oscar win for RRR Telugu film. The three songs of Rangasamudra on Jhankar Movie’s YouTube channel are rapidly gaining popularity, bringing immense joy to the film’s team for this noteworthy addition.

Director Rajkumar Aski, lyricist Vagish Channagiri, and music director Desi Mohan were insistent on having MM Keeravani contribute to the song, and producer Hoysala Konanur readily gave his approval. Keervani, upon listening to the song’s track, took only five minutes to agree to sing it. He not only wrote the lyrics in Kannada but also shared fond memories of his days in Bengaluru, residing in a small room and frequenting Chamundeswari Studio. He fondly mentioned his best friend in Bengaluru, Doddanna.

The cast of Rangasamudra includes Raghavendra Rajakumar, Rangayana Raghu, Sampath Raj, Mohan Juneja, Moogu Suresh, Gururaj Hoskote, Ugram Manju, Karthik Rao, Divya Gowda, Mahendra, Skandha, and others.

Apart from MM Keeravani, other singers such as Vijayaprakash, Khailash Kher, Sanjith Hegde, and Desi Mohan have contributed to the four songs, each showcasing a unique style. Additionally, Naveen Sajju has lent his voice to two segments in the film.

Rangasamudra is scheduled for release on January 12.
