Noted Kannada actor Mitra will be seen in a prominent role in the film “Mahan,” directed by P.C. Shekhar, who has previously made several tastefully crafted Kannada films. The film is being produced under the banner Akash Pictures in association with a reputed production house. Prakash Budduru is producing the film, which features Vijay Raghavendra in the lead role.

Mitra shared details about his role in “Mahan” in his statement “After the film Raaga, I have been working with director P.C. Shekhar. My role in Raaga was appreciated widely. I am now acting in a key role in Mahan. I liked the story as soon as the director narrated it and immediately agreed to act. It’s nice to see producer Prakash Budduru backing a film with such a good storyline. Vijay Raghavendra is an excellent actor, and I’m happy to be acting alongside him. The story of this film has a social concern, and P.C. Shekhar is directing it. Vijay Raghavendra has a role that seems tailor-made for him. My character progresses along with the lead character. I believe our combination will appeal to the audience.”

Director P.C. Shekhar also shared his thoughts “The film Raaga, in which Mitra and I worked together, is still popular today. After that, Mitra didn’t act in my other directorials. That’s because I don’t prefer Mitra taking on small roles in my films. For his performance in Raaga, Mitra received the State Award. He delivered an outstanding performance in that film. In Mahan, too, he has a role that people will remember. While writing the screenplay, I felt Mitra was the perfect choice for the character. It’s a role that travels alongside the lead throughout the film. Just as Krishna always stands beside Arjuna in Kurukshetra, these two characters are developed with that inspiration. Mitra’s role in Mahan will also connect well with the audience.”

Producer Prakash Budduru expressed happiness over having an experienced actor like Mitra in his banner’s debut production.
