The highly respected family of Dr. Rajkumar has made yet another contribution to the field of cinema. This time, it’s Prithviraj—grandson of Dr. Rajkumar’s brother Varadappa—starring in Minchu Hula.
Prithviraj plays a key role in a content-driven film written, directed, and scripted by Mahesh Kumar. The movie is produced by Rajagopal Doddahullur under the Bhoomi Pictures banner, with Vijay Kumar and Abdul Rafeeq Ullah serving as producers.
National Award winner Doddahullur Rukkoji Rao, recognized for his book on Dr. Rajkumar, provided full support in the production of this film.
In a special screening held recently at the Film Artists Association, several dignitaries attended, including Nada Brahma Hamsalekha, veteran actress Jayamala, director P. Seshadri, Lahari Velu, MLA Sarath Bachegowda, thinker Prof. Rajappa Dalvai, SA Chinne Gowda, Doddahullur Rukkoji Rao, and Rajkumar’s daughters, Smt Lakshmi and Poornima Ram Kumar.
The film’s story is set in an urban environment and revolves around a strained relationship between an abusive father and his son. After being unable to pay rent, the family moves into a dilapidated house with no electricity. The son, determined to bring some light into their lives, attempts to restore electricity with the help of a newspaper agent, only to have the money he collected chewed up by a mouse. Inspired by a firefly, the boy comes up with a new idea that changes his life.
Director Mahesh Kumar announced that Minchu Hula is set to release on October 4, and he appealed for the support of moviegoers.
Child actor Pritam Koppada said, “Our film is releasing on the 4th. I hope everyone watches it and supports us.”
Prithviraj, Varadappa’s grandson, shared, “My role complements the main character. We need everyone’s support for this film.”
Producer Rajagopal Doddahullur revealed, “I hadn’t intended to make a film. It was my childhood friend Rukkoji who suggested we make a movie based on this story. So, we made it together.”
The guests who attended the event wished the Minchu Hula team great success in theaters and shared fond memories of the Rajkumar family.
