The highly anticipated film Max, starring the acting legend Kichcha Sudeep, is set for a grand release on December 25 in five languages, including Kannada. The film is produced by Kalaipuli S. Thanu and Kichcha Creations, and directed by Vijay Kartikeyan.
During a press conference organized to provide more details about the film, the film’s star Sudeep, director Vijay Kartikeyan, producer Kalaipuli S. Thanu, Sudha Belavadi, Karisubbu, Sanyukta Hornadu, Sukrutha Wagle, Vijay Chenduru, Nagaraj, Anirudh, Praveen, music director Ajneesh Loknath, cinematographer Shekhar Chandra, action director Chetan D’Souza, art director Shivkumar, editor Ganesh Babu, executive producer Sriram, and many others were present.
Sudeep began by explaining that the main reason he accepted the film was director Vijay Kartikeyan. He shared, “When Vijay came and narrated the story, I thought it was fantastic. If it hadn’t been good, we wouldn’t be here today. Producer Thanu is an experienced and senior producer, and he liked the script as well. We started discussing the story further and worked on making it even stronger.
In 2004, I was shooting for Nalla in Chennai, and Kaakka Kaakka was doing well. I went to meet Thanu sir to discuss the possibility of remaking Kaakka Kaakka in Kannada. The first day I met him, he seemed tense, asking if I wanted the rights for the film. He immediately agreed and gave me the rights for free. It was a great pleasure to work with such a kind-hearted, veteran producer. My mother had always wished to see me in a film like this, and though she is no longer with us, her blessings are with this project. I kept showing her some clips from the film while she was with us.
The whole team has done a great job. Everyone has a significant role, and everyone performed excellently. Due to the collective effort, the film has turned out really well. It is a one-night story, and we went through a lot during the climax shoot. It was a very tough shoot for everyone involved, with night-time effects involving fire and dust. What I liked most about the film is its pacing. There is no unnecessary rush. Even Ajneesh, the music director, praised the speed of the film. In this movie, I play the role of a dedicated police officer named Arjun Mahakshay. Everyone calls me ‘Max’.”
Producer Kalaipuli S. Thanu, who has worked with several famous actors including Rajinikanth in Tamil, Hindi, and Malayalam films, said, “This is my first film in Kannada as a producer. When I spoke to Sudeep, I told him the story was good, and if he liked it, we would proceed with the film. He loved the story, and thus, the film began. I thank Sudeep for giving me the opportunity to produce a Kannada film. Our film releases on December 25, and I hope for your support and encouragement.”
Director Vijay Kartikeyan expressed his gratitude towards producer Thanu and actor Kichcha Sudeep, saying, “This is an emotional action thriller that takes place over one night. With the cooperation of the entire team, Max has turned out really well. I am thankful to everyone who supported the film.”
