The film Marnami, which presents elements of coastal culture, is scheduled for a statewide release on February 20. In recent times, films featuring new talent and fresh content have been reaching theatres more frequently, and Marnami joins that list. The film is set to release across the state on February 20, with actor Kichcha Sudeepa extending his support to the project, which the team described as a source of encouragement.
The film stars Ritvik Mathad, known for his work on television, and Chaitra Achar, who has drawn attention through varied roles. Through the film, aspects of coastal traditions, customs, language, culture, and practices such as Hulivesha (tiger dance) are presented.
The film team had earlier announced the release date twice but postponed it on both occasions. This time, the makers have stated that the film will release as planned. Marnami is produced by Shilpa Nishanth and directed by Rithesh Shetty.
Sharing details about the film, director Rithesh Shetty said that Marnami will be released across the state on February 20. He explained that although the release date was announced twice earlier, the film was postponed due to insufficient time for promotions, which affected its reach among audiences. He confirmed that the film is now ready for release. He added that the film includes a storyline featuring Hulivesha, a love story set in the coastal region, action, emotion, and the value of relationships. He also noted that in the coastal region, Marnami is considered the Mangaluru Dasara. He mentioned that the characters Chethu and Deeksha are expected to connect with audiences and said the team is awaiting public response.
Actor Ritvik Mathad stated that he underwent extensive preparation for the film and that it includes elements such as Hulivesha and other aspects. He said the film depicts various consequences that arise when a person loses patience. He also mentioned that Kichcha Sudeepa’s support for the film has added strength to the team. He expressed that if the popularity and television ratings he received on the small screen are reflected in cinema as well, it would benefit the film.
Actor Chaitra Achar said that the film is ready for release and mentioned that audiences have shown strong appreciation for Ritvik Mathad. She stated that if the same support is extended to the film, it would help its prospects. She also said that the film, which she had once let go of, came back to her. She invited the Shetty community to watch the film and mentioned that she feels hesitant to personally invite people to film events, but is open to speaking about the film if approached.
Producer Nishanth said that the film’s release was postponed twice with the intention of ensuring it reached audiences effectively. He added that the plan is to first release the film in Kannada, observe the response, and then consider dubbing it into other languages.
Cinematographer Shivasena, fight master Arjun Raj, and art director Varadaraj Kamath also shared information about their respective contributions to the film.
