Title – “MARAKASTHRA” Film: Producer – Komala Nataraj, Director – Guru Murthy Sunami, Music and Lyrics – Mircle Manju, Cinematography – Arun Suresh, Creative Head – Dhankumar, Starring – Malashri, Nataraj, Swathi, Anand Arya, Harshika Poonacha, Ayyapa Sharma, Ugram Manju, MS Umesh, Honnavalli Krishna, Bank Janardhan, and others.

Welcome to a high-energy action spectacle, “MARAKASTHRA,” where the battle of good versus evil unfolds. With action queen Malashri at the helm, expect relentless action with boundless intensity and minimal rationale. In addition to the seasoned actress Malashri, Komala Nataraj’s husband, Nataraj, steals the show at both the beginning and end of the film. Though vertically challenged, his enthusiasm and fervor are truly commendable.

Among the ensemble cast, Anand Arya, who bears a striking resemblance to Power Star Puneeth Rajakumar, makes his debut. However, he falls short of matching the stature of the late Karnataka Rathna Power star Puneeth Rajakumar, who sadly passed away two years ago. Anand Arya clearly needs significant training to reach that level.

The musical dimension of the film shines the brightest. Miracle Manju’s compositions for his lyrics are exceptionally well-done. Arun Suresh’s camera work perfectly captures the essence of “Bharat Darshan.”

As for the film’s central focus, “Marakasthra,” debutant director Guru Murthy Sunami should have paid more attention to the lengthy 156-minute screenplay. The pre- and post-interval narrative is action-packed and could benefit from some editing. Nonetheless, the director’s dedication is evident and praiseworthy.

A series of gruesome murders, including two grown-up daughters, Deputy Commissioner Sathyaprakash, lawyer Jagapathi, and Sub Inspector Manjunath, compel the police department to enlist the services of super cop Jahnavi (Malashri). Initially, the investigation points towards Bharath, who runs an orphanage for the elderly. However, at the interval point, suspicion shifts to another individual, Daniel Shekar.

The parents of the two slain girls, Nataraj and Swathi, are undergoing treatment for erratic behavior. The investigation takes a turn towards black magic, MLA Mudduraj, and Ayyappa Sharma. The manipulative influence of a black magic practitioner is the underlying cause of all the incidents. The lack of gravity when an MLA is murdered in a swimming pool leaves the audience bewildered.

The climax of the film holds the key to how evil is vanquished, paving the way for a cleaner, more harmonious environment, a story that unfolds on the silver screen.

Malashri delivers a powerhouse performance with intense action sequences and fiery dialogues. Harshika Poonacha, playing the role of a crime reporter for the first time, is particularly impressive.

Miracle Manju’s songs, such as “Videsha Noduva Badalu Swadesha Nodu,” “Kaiya Tolege Muttuvantha Bombe Neenu,” a song dedicated to Lord Hanuman, and “Hettavare Devarendu Nambida Jeeva,” are beautifully composed and add depth to the film.

“MARAKASTHRA” is a film for action enthusiasts, offering an adrenaline-pumping cinematic experience.
