Almost all of today’s youngsters have zeal and enthusiasm. However, when it comes to presentation, they do not consult properly on whether it is accurate from the audience’s point of view. Attending theaters should be the first priority of a director these days.
Director, actor, and producer Vyanavarna Jammula (Venkatesh Rao) has done good research for his content, and his profession in software has provided solid support. While he knows what is required to curb superstition and fake beliefs, it is not entirely sufficient.
The film moves at a serious pace and does not offer much mental relief. Sound has been a major drawback, and visually, it is not pleasant. In this serious mood, the lack of engaging, attractive situations weakens the film. The fear aspect, from the Kannada alphabet ‘Aa to Aham’ in life, needs to be reconsidered, as the director suggests. Mantrika is one such film that aims to reflect reality but, in reality, it tests patience on the silver screen.
For the sake of making a big-screen entry, the director, producer, and lead actor has not taken the right approach. Technicalities are a big minus, and in many places, the dialogues are not audible. However, the substance of life in reality deserves kudos.
In a large complex, three people are dead, and ten are missing. Witchcraft is believed to be the cause. However, Krishna, as a ghost hunter, goes to the building and uncovers the truth.
The truth is revealed in a flashback. Shynesh, a timid landowner of three acres in Marnudi, near Maharashtra, is duped by a realtor. An expert in creating audio waves, Shynesh uses his brilliance. The rest of the developments can be seen in this 109-minute film Mantrika, with the tagline Ghost Hunter.
All the actors are new to this film and focus on solving the issue of whether a ghost exists or not.
