A highly qualified and intelligent couple, Vyna Varna Jammula (Venkatesh Rao) and Ayana, both software engineers, have entered the film industry with a unique topic that is sure to spark debate and discussion.
The film was shot in a three-story building near Hoskote (which has since been demolished), and the team of Mantrika – Vismaya Shodaka, based on true events, experienced both good and bad encounters during the shoot, reminiscent of a ghost hunter-style film.
“I don’t know whether devils or ghosts exist in the world, but their authenticity is being questioned,” says Vyna Varna Jammula, who comes from an IT background and has written and directed the story, screenplay, and dialogues for this film. In addition to his role behind the scenes, he also stars in the lead role. The teaser launch event for the film was recently held.
VV Jammula explains that people live in fear 24/7. “In this film, we emphasize the importance of removing fear from our minds and facing reality. If there is a ghost, what is it like, or is it just a psychological feeling? We’ve explored that in the film,” he says.
Mantrika is a film that connects with the universal theme of fear. It aims to educate viewers about fear while also providing entertainment. “We’ve shown that people shouldn’t be misled by superstitions; the truth behind them is often different. Decide for yourself after watching the film.” The movie was shot in locations such as Bangalore and Mangalore, with the main scenes filmed in a vacant mall in Bangalore. During the mall shoot, the crew experienced several strange occurrences, Jammula added.
This intellectual, suspense-filled thriller, centered on a ghost hunter, revolves around the question of whether ghosts really exist or if it’s all an illusion. Radhika Mali Patil and Maithili Nayak star as the female leads.
On this occasion, Ayana, Vyna Varna’s wife, who also supported the film as a producer and director, said, “I work at an MNC company. I have already seen the film, and it addresses the reality of magic and mantras in the world. That’s why I joined in the production of this film.” She also mentioned plans to release the movie by Dussehra.
The supporting cast, including Dushyant Gold, Belideepa Govind, Devendra, Munjane Manju, and Jagdish, explained the characters they play.
Produced under the banner of Krishna Sankula Branding Pictures, the film has received a U/A certificate from the censor board, and the team plans to release it next month.
The film’s score was composed by the director himself, with background music by Stalin, cinematography by Anil Antony and Ramesh Marripalli, and action choreography by Lion G. Gangaraju.
