Majestic, which was released 25 years ago and became a major success, is still fondly remembered. Now, another film with the same name has been made. Titled Majestic-2, the film attempts to realistically portray the businesses and dealings that take place in the present-day Majestic area.
The trailer launch event was held on Wednesday, with retired judge Venkatesh and Jeetendra Hulikunte attending as chief guests.
The film has been produced on a big budget by H. Anandappa of Chitradurga under the banner of Amma Enterprises. Bharat Kumar, son of senior producer Shilpa Srinivas, plays the lead role. Senior actress Shruthi portrays the role of a mother, while actress Malashree is also part of the cast. Samhita Vinya appears as the heroine.
Director Ramu narrates the story through the life of a boy born and brought up in the Majestic area, showcasing its current reality, the various businesses and illegal activities that take place there, and how rowdyism continues to exist.
The trailer was released by the producer’s wife, Mrs. Nirmalamma. Producer H. Anandappa has planned to release the film in March.
Speaking at the event, lead actor Bharat Kumar expressed lifelong gratitude to the producer for introducing him as a hero in the film industry. He said he was given the opportunity to act in a film with such a prestigious title and acknowledged his father’s immense support. Although the shooting went smoothly, the team later faced several difficulties. He mentioned that there are many who try to suppress them, but they must stand firm and succeed. He added that the producer taught them to earn recognition through hard work and dedication.
Bharat Kumar also praised heroine Samhita Vinya for her hard work. He said acting alongside senior artistes like Shruthi and Malashree was a great fortune. To prepare for his role, he spent 10 days roaming around the Majestic area with a hidden camera to understand the environment. He observed the locality early in the mornings and late at night, noting that one can witness all kinds of people and activities there.
Producer Anandappa shared that before entering the film industry, he had little knowledge about cinema. However, after becoming part of it, he gained significant experience. He revealed that he had contested the MLA elections four times and lost, but through these two films, he gained experience worth a hundred years. Becoming a producer was his dream. He added that the film is now ready for release and praised the hero’s hard work. Responding to a question about the director’s absence and why his name does not appear on the posters, Anandappa said he would reveal the challenges he faced in a few days.
Heroine Samhita Vinya stated that the film has a strong storyline and that she felt happy to act alongside artistes like Shruthi and Malashree. She mentioned that the film has seen many ups and downs and that she is eagerly awaiting its release.
Petrol Prasanna and Kote Prabhakar also expressed happiness about being part of Majestic-2.
The film features five songs composed by Vinu Manasu. Cinematography is by Venus Murthy, Vijayakumar has worked as Associate Director, and stunts have been handled by Chinnayya.
