Here is a young and ambitious team that is making a Kannada film with a story that travels from a farmer to a soldier.
A new film, “Maha Kaliputra,” is being produced by Girish S.M. under the banner of Tirupati Tirumala Productions. Girish himself is directing the film. The title launch program of the movie was held recently. Girish Gowda has written the screenplay and is also assisting in the direction.
Speaking on the occasion, the film’s hero, producer, and director Girish S.M. said, “Basically, I am a farmer. I have come to make a film about that farmer. This is my first film. Speaking about the title, Maha Kaliputra means a devotee of the Goddess. Farmers used to worship the Goddess every day before going out to work. In the film, we are showing that farmer as the son of the Goddess.
We are making this film with a good message about farmers. In earlier times, farmers worked honestly and with dedication and fed the entire country. Today, the respect and value that the farmer deserves from society is not being given. We have created this concept by linking the farmer who works trusting the soil with the soldier who protects the nation. Farmers did farming then and even now, but the style has changed technically. Bulls are not raised just for show; they are raised for farming and later can also be used for races. Our film will also have a race. From beginning to end, we are trying to make the film look new. Compared to all the films that have come about farmers so far, this one will have a completely different story. We are starting the shoot on the 15th of this month around Bengaluru. Since it is a pan-India film, artists from different languages will also act in it,” he said.
Producer Girish said they are making a film that as many people as possible will like, and that ups and downs are natural, and they are ready to face them. Venkatesh, who worked on the films Rajanivasa and Pyaar, has written the dialogues for this film.
Screenwriter Girish Gowda said, “Girish worked with me as an assistant earlier. Now I am making the film Maddur Vade. This is a story of our soil. How this very soil goes to the army—even gunpowder can be made from our soil. We are making this film with a small base of that mining concept. We are showing the value of our soil. The heroine of the film will be introduced soon. We are planning to release it during Dasara. The fair that happens in Shivamogga will be shot in real. The story takes place around Mandya and Maddur. The film has only one song. Rahul Vastar is composing the music. The background score is being done in Chennai. Keerthan Poojari is handling the camera work. Vishnu, who worked with Ravi Varma, is doing the action. It is a concept similar to Tithi,” he said.
The guests on this occasion, Puneeth, Shanker, and Monish Upadhya, wished grand success for this project.
