The cinematic venture known as ‘Maayanagari’ has been masterfully crafted by the renowned 18th Cross Kannada cinema director, Shankar Aradhya. Over the past few years, he has meticulously worked on delivering a captivating film tailored for family audiences, brimming with suspense, thrill, love, and excitement.
An unexpected highlight of the song release event at MMB Legacy was the inclusion of the late Shanker Nag’s voice, accompanied by a photograph on the screen, blessing the team. Director Shanker Aradhya dedicated this moment as a tribute to the legendary Shanker Nag, who passed away 33 years ago.
The special guest at the Lachi Lachi… release event added another layer of charm. Baby Nishita, a five-and-a-half-year-old renowned child artist, took the stage and endearingly inaugurated the song.
Director Shanker Aradhya then took the opportunity to share an extensive overview of the film ‘Maayanagari.’ Emphasizing the significance of the Lachi Lachi….song, he expressed his desire for even children to hum along. This musical feat was accomplished by the talented composer, Arjun Janya. The director envisioned three sets for the song, featuring Anish, Teju, and dancers, with one set even incorporating an indoor rain effect. Notably, for another pivotal song set in Chickmagaluru’s picturesque locations, Shanker Aradhya and his team took considerable risks in shooting the sequences with Anish and Sathwika (Shravya). Costume designing for the Lachi Lachi….song was skillfully handled by actress Sathwika, also known as Shravya Rao.
The film boasts 13 minutes of impressive CG effects, a project that consumed nearly a year, according to director Shanker Aradhya. With high expectations for the film’s strength, he anticipates its release on the silver screen in December of this year.
In ‘Maayanagari,’ Sathwika (Shravya) portrays the character of Mallika, describing it as her career-best role. She commends the director’s versatility and expresses her joy as the film nears its release.
Bharat Sagar, a co-actor in the film, hails it as a cinema on a different level, expressing confidence in its success. Lead actor Anish acknowledges the director’s unwavering commitment and hard work, praising the film’s multi-dimensional aspects. Anish, who plays an aspiring director within the film, expresses satisfaction in collaborating with the esteemed actor, director, and producer Dwarakish.
Sandalwood Pictures presents ‘Maayanagari,’ a horror-action family sentiment film shot over a span of nearly 65 days in Bengaluru, Shivamoggga, Sagara, Chickmagalur, Bhadravathi, and other scenic locations.
