Produced by R. Keshav (Devasandra) under the banner of Radhakrishna Pictures, directed by Naveen Reddy B and starring Tiger Vinod Prabhakar in the lead role, Maadeva will be released across the state on June 6. The trailer, songs, and making of Maadeva were screened at the media meet at MMB Legacy on Monday night.
Maadeva is a film set in the 1980s. Vinod Prabhakar plays the role of a hangman in the film. Therefore, the film was shot in locations that are appropriate for that period. Sonal Monteiro plays the female lead. Srinagar Kitty plays a special role, and Malashree plays a guest role. Shruti, Achyut Kumar, Cockroach Sudhee, Bal Rajwadi, and others are in the star cast. Sonal Monteiro plays the female lead opposite Vinod Prabhakar. She is very talkative in the film. The costume of ‘Langa Dhavani’ throughout the film was something she had always wanted in her career. Of course, the Robert pair — Sonal and Vinod Prabhakar — were looking for a convincing script after that success.
The film, which has stunt direction by Different Danny, Real Satish, and Vikram More, cinematography by Balakrishna Thota, editing by Vijay M. Kumar, and art direction by Guna, is releasing across the state on June 6. Director Naveen Reddy said, “May you all support our film.”
“The director told me this story during COVID. I liked the story a lot. As the director said, it is a story set in the 80s. According to Naveen Reddy, there is a good emotional journey made on a big budget — in Shivamogga, Ramoji Film City, and other locales. After Vinod Prabhakar joined the team, there were quite a few changes at the screenplay level. We have worked very hard for the last three years, and I hope to get very good results,” says the director.
“I have acted in the role of a hangman. As far as I know, there has not been a story about a hangman in Kannada. While I was acting in this film, some scenes reminded me of my father Prabhakar’s films Jiddu and Karulina Koogu,” said Vinod Prabhakar.
Producer Keshav Devasandra (who earlier made Banti Kannada film), a realtor and former councillor, has made the film without any shortcomings. His son Sumanth has acted as Vinod’s friend in the film. Sumanth does most of the talking in a comedy style — “I am like Nandi in front of Shiva in this film — I am in the company of Maadeva.”
“After the film Robert, Sonal and I acted in this film. A good film has been made with the cooperation of the entire team. May you all always be encouraged,” said hero Vinod Prabhakar.
“My character’s name in this film is Parvati. I appear as a village girl. Wearing traditional costumes of Langa and Dhavani was something I had always wanted,” she says. “I will be part of the length from Rakshasa to Manushya Patha of Vinod Prabhakar. After hearing this script, within one hour, I agreed to act. My husband Tarun saw this film and appreciated the work of Vinod Prabhakar,” says Sonal Tarun. “I am the girl next door. I have immensely liked the role of Parvati — this is my best after Raghava and Tanu in the Robert super hit film,” she adds.
Actor Cockroach Sudhee also spoke about his role. Music director Pradyothan gave information about the music. CG expert Sangamesh explained his task for the film Maadeva. The cinematography is by Balakrishna Thota for the film.
