At the recently held elections to the Kannada Film Producers Association (KFPA), a humble and unassuming producer, MG Ramamurthy, got elected to the President post. He defeated Umesh Banakar with a huge margin in the elections held on 10th January 2026.
MG Ramamurthy, who began his journey as a producer from Majestic in 2002, later made films like Gangebare Tunge Baare, Aithalakadi, Encounter Dayanayak, Dharma and a few others.
Senior producer Nandihal SJ won the Vice President post. The executive committee members are Rajesh Brahmavar, Srinivas HC, Priya Hasan, Anchehalli Shivakumar, Lava V, Guruprsad PVS, Ganesh Rao Kesarkar K, Keshava, Mohan Kumar SK (Advocate), Avinash U Shetty, Sundar Rajan MK and Teshi Venkatesh.
The newly elected KFPA members started functioning from 11th January 2026.
