Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the buzzword across the globe today. Gradually permeating various industries, AI has now made its mark on the world of cinema as well. While AI tools are increasingly being used in pre-production and post-production across several film industries, one team has taken things a step further — creating an entire movie through AI technology. The result is Love You, the first-ever fully AI-generated feature film, now set to hit the screens.
Titled Love You, this Kannada-language film is produced entirely using Artificial Intelligence. While many film industries across the globe have started utilizing AI for select departments, an ambitious attempt to produce an entire feature film using only AI had not yet been made—until now. And it’s Kannada cinema that takes the bold leap.
“Except for the director and producer, every aspect of Love You was generated through AI technology. This makes Love You the world’s first fully AI-generated movie,” says S. Narasimha Murthy, the film’s director and producer.
“From characters and dialogues to music composition, cinematography, sound design, background environments, and even color grading — everything in Love You has been executed using AI tools. Under the technical leadership of AI engineer Nootan and the project direction of Sundar Raj Gundurao, the film took shape creatively,” adds Narasimha Murthy.
The 95-minute Love You includes an astonishing 12 songs, all composed and rendered using AI. With most of the work on the film already completed, the regional Censor Board has reviewed and awarded it a U/A certificate, officially clearing it for theatrical release.
Speaking about this unique endeavor, Narasimha Murthy says, “This isn’t just a film—it’s a revolution. We are entering a new era where storytelling and technology blend seamlessly. Love You is Kannada cinema’s bold step into global innovation. I feel proud to have been a part of such a pioneering effort, and I firmly believe that this shift will place our film industry ahead of others in the near future.”
Now that Love You, the world’s first fully AI-generated film, has received censor clearance, the team is planning for a May or June theatrical release. Whether this AI milestone lives up to the buzz will be known only once audiences experience Love You on the big screen.
