The team of the upcoming Kannada film Kuladalli Keelyavudo, produced by Santosh Kumar and Vidya under the banner of Yogaraj Cinemas and Pearl Cinemas, has made a significant decision regarding a song sung by renowned playback singer Sonu Nigam.

Director Ram Narayan and the producers spoke at a press conference about the decision to remove Sonu Nigam’s song from the film. While they acknowledged Nigam’s talent as a respected singer, they expressed their dissatisfaction with remarks he made about Kannada during a recent event.

Sonu Nigam had sung a song for Kuladalli Keelyavudo three months ago, composed by Manomurthy and written by Yogaraj Bhat. The song had recently been released and had gained popularity. However, in response to Nigam’s controversial comments about Kannada, the team decided to remove his version of the song from the film. They have re-recorded the same song with Kannada singer Chetan, with the approval of music director Manomurthy and lyricist Yogaraj Bhat. The new version will be released soon, as confirmed by director Ram Narayan.

Producer Santosh Kumar added that while they respect Sonu Nigam as a talented artist, the remarks he made about Kannada were hurtful, and they did not expect such behavior from him. He further stated that despite Nigam’s apology, the team felt it was insincere and driven by pressure. As a result, they decided not to feature his voice in their film and will not be working with him on any future projects.

The film, which has already attracted attention through its teaser and songs, is set to release on May 23. The lead roles in Kuladalli Keelyavudo are played by Madenoor Manu and Maun Guddemane.
