The music of “Koragajja” is not just about melodic compositions; it unveils an entirely new cultural dimension, said renowned South Indian music director Gopi Sundar. He expressed his admiration for the film’s music at a joint press conference in Kochi, along with the film’s director, Sudheer Attavar. Gopi Sundar stated that this film is not just an ordinary father-daughter story. Since the director conducted extensive research and the movie is based on unique traditions and beliefs, he needed more time to study and compose the music accordingly. He was thrilled when the director appreciated the tunes he had created after studying these traditions.

“More than my admiration, what matters is that Gopi has composed at such an extraordinary level,” said the director, expressing his happiness about the film’s music.

Gopi Sundar further added, “The subject of ‘Koragajja’ helped me explore a new genre. This has greatly supported my venture into composing songs with a fresh musical approach. Unlike regular films, this movie consists of various intricate musical layers that no one would expect. Scoring music for such a film is an immense challenge and an honor for me.”

The director also pointed out that although Gopi Sundar’s background score for “Pulimurugan” was shortlisted for the Oscars, it could not make it to the final round. However, he assured that this time, the music for “Koragajja” has surpassed even that level of excellence.

Under the banners of Success Films and Trivikram Cinemas, producer Trivikram Sapalya has backed the film, which features six songs. He shared insights about all the tracks. During the recording process, eminent playback singers like Shreya Ghoshal, Shankar Mahadevan, Sunidhi Chauhan, Javed Ali, Sharon Prabhakar, Armaan Malik, and Swaroop Khan openly praised Gopi Sundar’s compositions. Sudheer also revealed that one of the songs sung by Shankar Mahadevan incorporates verses from the Shiv Tandav Stotra, written by Ravaneshwara in the Ramayana.

Additionally, Javed Ali lent his voice to a song about Guliga Daiva, one of the fiercest spirits worshipped in the coastal region. After recording, Javed Ali shared how deeply moved he was by the experience.

All the songs have been composed by Sudheer in three to four languages, with distinctive styles. He has introduced unique expressions, astonishing new sounds, and an innovative lyrical approach, which has enriched the songs with an entirely fresh appeal, Gopi Sundar remarked.

Regarding the film’s audio rights, producer Trivikram Sapalya disclosed that leading audio companies from across the country are in intense competition to acquire them. He proudly mentioned that top labels from Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Bangalore have approached him, offering unexpectedly high prices.
