The inaugural logo launch ceremony of the “KMH Cup” cricket tournament, organized by the Karnataka State Film Colorist and Hairdressing Artists Association (Karnataka Rajya Vastralankara and Keshalankara Kala Sangha), recently took place. Actress Bhavana Ramanna, the ambassador of the tournament, unveiled the logo. The event was graced by Congress leader Dinesh, association president S Babu Dharmendra, and secretary Dinesh Achar.
The Karnataka State Film Colorist and Hairstylist Association boasts a 35-year history, built and nurtured by many esteemed members. This year marks the first “KMH Cup” cricket tournament.
Actress Bhavana Ramanna, a longstanding supporter of the association, is the tournament’s ambassador. The tennis ball cricket tournament is scheduled for July 20 and 21, Saturday and Sunday, at BGS ground in Vijayanagar. Matches will run from 8 AM to 8 PM. The knockout matches will consist of six overs, while the final match will be eight overs. The winning team will receive Rs 49,999, and the runner-up team will be awarded Rs 24,999. Teams wishing to participate must pay an entry fee of ten thousand rupees.
Twelve unions and friends of the media under the Karnataka Film Workers Union will join the tournament, with a total of fourteen teams competing, as announced by association president Babu Dharmendra.
Actress Bhavana Ramanna fondly recalled Venkatesh, her makeup artist for her first film, and urged the producers of all her films to ensure makeup and hairdressing were handled by members of this association. She noted the challenges posed by social media promotion of makeup, expressing concern for the industry’s impact. Bhavana emphasized that mostly artists would play cricket in this tournament, with fewer technicians participating. She expressed her delight in being the ambassador for this event, wishing for the tournament’s success.
