The much-anticipated Kannada film, ‘Klantha,’ is scheduled for release on January 19, with a teaser unveiling at a media meeting featuring popular actor Ajay Rao. Produced by friends from Tulu Nadu and directed by Vaibhav Prashant, ‘Klantha’ narrates a captivating one-and-a-half-year journey. The trailer, recently released, was shot during a 34 to 40-day expedition in the picturesque Subrahmanya and Kudremukh forests. Director Vaibhav Prashant reveals that the script was developed during the lockdown period.
Originally titled ‘Weekend with Lover’ and later changed to ‘Kalanta,’ the movie explores the Sanskrit term ‘Klantha,’ meaning fatigue or tiredness. Director Vaibhav Prashant shares that the film includes three songs and is set to hit screens on January 19.
Ajay Rao, the chief guest at the event, commends the trailer for its action-packed sequences. He expresses optimism for the film’s success and encourages support for newcomers. Debut actor Vignesh, also present at the event, emphasizes the importance of parental viewership for ‘Klantha,’ citing the success of his previous collaboration with director Prashant in the Tulu film ‘Dagal Bajilu.’
The film, produced under the banner of ‘Anugrah Power Media’ by Uday Ammannaya K, showcases the directorial expertise of Vaibhav Prashanth, who has been actively contributing to Kannada cinema for almost twelve years. The cinematography, skillfully handled by Mohan Lokanathan, enhances the visual appeal of the film.
P. Chandrakanth takes the helm of the music composition for the three songs in ‘Klantha,’ featuring vocals by renowned artists such as Vijay Prakash, Nayana Nagaraj, Rajesh Krishnan, Chetan, and Ira Acharya.
The movie’s shooting locations spanned Gundya, Kukke Subramanya, Kalasa, Mangalore, and Bangalore, capturing the essence of these diverse landscapes. Notably, ‘Klantha’ highlights the miraculous presence of God Koragajja, a focal point showcased in the film. The accompanying song has already gained popularity in Tulu Nadu, further fueling anticipation for the film’s release.
