The Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) has expressed its support for the Karnataka Bandh called by pro-Kannada organizations on March 22. In a press conference, Film Chamber President Narasimhalu stated that the Kannada film industry stands in support of the bandh; however, film shootings will not be halted.

Although the film industry is backing the bandh, film shootings will continue as scheduled. Film exhibitors have also extended their support by canceling morning shows on that day, but screenings will proceed as usual from the afternoon onwards.

Speaking after the meeting, Chamber President Narasimhalu emphasized that since the time of Rajanna, the film industry has consistently supported Kannada whenever its land, water, and language were under threat. He reiterated that this bandh, being held in the interest of the state, has received support from all sectors of the film industry.

“There will be no restrictions on film shootings. However, if film teams or producers voluntarily choose to halt their shoots, we welcome their decision. The Artists’ Association and the Producers’ Association have also expressed their support,” he stated.

Kushal Chandrashekhar, secretary of the Exhibitors’ Association, confirmed that the morning show will be canceled on March 22, while screenings will resume from the afternoon. “By canceling one show, we are demonstrating our support from the exhibitors’ circle,” he said.
