The trailer for Kaljiga was recently unveiled at a special event, and those who have seen it on the A2 Films YouTube channel are thrilled. The positive feedback has been pouring in from all directions, making Kaljiga one of the most anticipated Kannada films.
Produced under the Himani Films banner, the trailer release event took place at Bharat Cinemas Theater in Bharat Mall, Mangalore. The event was graced by MLA Vedavyasa Kamath, former minister Ramanatha Rai, Puttur MLA Ashok Rai, veteran Tulu cinema star Devdas Kapikad, actor Vijayakumar Kodiyal Bail, and the film crew. The trailer was launched in their presence.
Additionally, the film team honored divine dancers Mayila Kuttaru, Raghava Kuttaru, and Janapada Paddan singer Kuttaru Thimmakkan at the same event. Over five hundred movie enthusiasts attended the gathering.
The enthusiastic responses to the trailer have invigorated the film team. With all production work now complete, Kaljiga is in its final stages and is scheduled for release on September 13. The film will be released in Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, Bangalore, Mysore, Chikkamagaluru, Shimoga, Hassan, Madikeri, and North Karnataka, and it will also be distributed in Mumbai and the Gulf countries.
Arjun Kapikad, known for his action roles in Tulu cinema, stars as the hero, with Sushmita Bhatt as the heroine. Suman Suvarna, who has previously directed several Tulu films such as Girgit, Circus, and Gamjal, makes his debut as an independent director with this film. Kaljiga features an engaging story set in a world where adharma overshadows the path of religion. The film is produced by Sarath Kumar AK, who owns the marketing firm SK Group.
The film’s music is composed by Hamsalekha, with lyrics and cinematography by Sachin Shetty. Prasad K Shetty provides the background music, while Yashwin K Shettigar handles the editing. Sanil Guru, known for his work in Kantara, serves as the creative head. Radhakrishna Manila is the executive producer, and Sandeep Shetty is the production manager.
