The well-known actor of Kenda Sampige and College Kumara, Vicky Varun, has learned many nuances from director Soori’s camp and is now an independent director. With hard work and great effort, Vicky Varun has completed the film Kalapatthar, which is now ready for release.
The Vicky Varun-Dhanya Ramkumar starrer Kalapathar will be released on September 13. Producers Suresh and Nagaraj expressed their happiness with the outcome of the film and mentioned that all responsibility now lies on Vicky Varun’s shoulders.
“I play a teacher in this film. My character’s name is Ganga. Both my role and the film are excellent. Vicky recently showed me a clip, and after seeing it, I am eagerly waiting to watch the entire film,” said actress Dhanya Ramkumar. “Recently, my film Powder was released, and this one is like ‘brown powder’ because of the brown soil present at the shooting spot,” Dhanya added. “As a teacher, what I teach is something you’ll have to see in theaters,” she disclosed.
“It has been fifteen years since I entered the Kannada film industry, and nine years since the release of Kendasampige, where I played the lead under Suri’s direction in September. I’m happy that Kalapathar, a film directed by and starring me, is also releasing in September,” said Vicky Varun.
Kalapatthar is a story related to black stone, with a narrative written by Satya Prakash. It’s a science fiction film filled with elements of illusion. Most of the shooting took place near Bijapur, in a village called Jainapur (built during the Nizam era) in the backwaters of Alamatti. Unfortunately, within a few months of our shoot, this village was submerged in water. There were no basic facilities at this shooting location. We also filmed in Kashmir and Rajasthan. The film was censored in January and received a UA certificate. Due to various reasons, we postponed the release of the film. Now, we are quickly releasing songs and trailers. Uday K Mehta, the producer of Martin, has taken on the distribution of Kalapatthar. Director and lead actor Vicky Varun hopes for your support for the film. He also mentioned that his long-standing relationship with media friends prompted him to invite a senior media person to announce the release date.
