Movie Title: Kadala Theerada Bhargava, Duration: 160 minutes, Verdict: Appreciation in parts
Produced by Eva Kala Studios, D Varun Raju KM, and Bharat TK, Directed by Pannaga Somashekhar, Music by Anil CJ, Cinematography by Keerthan Poojary, Cast: Bharat Gowda, Patel Varun Raju, Raghav Nag, KS Sridhar, Ashwin Haasan, Shruthi Prakash, and others.
This is the kind of subject that should be prepared during the writing stage. Pannaga Somashekhar’s execution is brilliant, featuring talented actors such as Patel Varun Raju, Bharat Gowda, Shruthi Prakash, and KS Sridhar, along with technical excellence. However, brevity was the need of the hour, and trimming the film during the discussion stage would have been beneficial. The movie leans towards excess entertainment, causing the wonderful psychological thriller to suffer due to prolonged narration.
From ‘Kadala Theerada Bhargava,’ two tall and handsome actors with terrific abilities shine – Varun Raj in the role of ‘Bhargava’ and Bharat Gowda as ‘Bharat’ in the film. Shruthi Prakash delivers a sweet and commendable performance. The entry of the talented senior actor Sidlingu Sridhar in the second half adds a new dimension to the entire film, with Sridhar KS delivering a perfect portrayal of his role.
The dialogues are well-written and suit the situations, while the songs and cinematography further elevate the film’s quality. Without a doubt, this is one of the best psychological thrillers.
At first, the director Pannaga Somasekhar presents everything seemingly plain. However, in the second half, he shifts the entire mindset of the viewers and takes the narration in a different direction.
‘Bhargava’ (Patel Varun Patel) is portrayed as a possessive parasite, overly protective of his friend ‘Bharat’ (Bharat Gowda). Bhargava’s major source of unhappiness is Bharat’s love life. On the other hand, Impana, from a Christian family, becomes connected to the love and affection of Bharat. Their journey is fraught with danger.
The film revolves around how Bhargava becomes a severe obstacle to Bharat’s love and how Impana faces tribulations. The entry of psychiatrist Jerry (K S Sridhar) brings in a psychological factor that alters the audience’s perception. Despite being seen as a pathetic loser by Bhargava, Bharat’s character takes an astonishing turn.
The audience’s calculations are overturned with the intervention of the psychiatrist, leading up to the pre-climax. ‘Kadana Theerada Bhargava’ is best experienced on the silver screen.
Bharat Gowda and Patel Varun Raju show promise for a bright future in the cinema industry, impressing with their remarkable performances in their debut film. Varun Patel’s action sequences are well-captured.
The title track “Madhura Madhura…Neene Nanna….” is beautifully composed and presented on the screen, effectively conveying the coastal feel to the audience.
This film offers an abundance of value addition, but trimming would enhance its impact. The quality, substance, and execution are of top-class standards.
