The number of Kannada films featuring horror elements has decreased lately. Now, director Sathyanath and his team present a film set in an agricultural background with a dose of horror, as evident from the trailer released on Sunday evening.

Prominent producer Shylaja Nag of Media House released the trailer and wished the film ‘Kabandha,’ which is currently in post-production, good luck. Shylaja Nag also advised the team to carefully plan the film’s release, as the current scenario is challenging for newcomers. She cautioned the ‘Kabandha’ team that attracting audiences to theaters is a significant challenge. Director Sathyanath, backed by thorough research, narrates the story across two time periods.

Who is ‘Kabandha’? Is he a Rakshasa with no head, eyes on his chest, and eight-foot-long hands that cause various complications? While director Sathyanath hasn’t included all such elements in his film, he strategically highlights that our society is entangled with many issues that aren’t necessarily part of life.

Prasad Vasishta, a well-known actor in Kannada films, gets a substantial role in this film. According to him, the film contains both content and entertainment. He said, “We have worked hard to create a cinematic experience for the audience.” He plays the role of Nachiketa, a character who demands everything for himself.

“We have more to show beyond what the trailer reveals,” says first-time actress Priyanka, who plays the role of Mahalakshmi. “I have good portions to emote in this film,” she adds. Prashanth Siddi, a comedy actor, plays Siddu. Senior actor Kishore portrays Hanuman, an agriculturist; Avinash plays a zamindar; and Yogaraj Bhat as Vamana Rao has a crucial role.

The film’s shoot took place at night in the surroundings of Devarayana Durga for 55 days, with Vishnu Prasad as the cameraman. Sai Teja composed the background score, and Shreyas P Rao provided the music for the songs.

The trailer launch event for the psycho-horror film ‘Kabandha’ was attended by popular actors Dharmanna, Nataraj, and others. It is a Kunjara banner film, and the trailer was specially edited by Anuranjan.
