THE PRESTIGIOUS AWARD FOR “KANTARA” IN 54TH INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL OF INDIA

At the 54th International Film Festival of India held in Goa, the film “Kantara,” produced by Hombale Films and directed by Rishab Shetty, clinched a special jury award. The eagerly awaited commencement of the film’s first part, titled ‘Kantara – Chapter 1,’ took place this Monday. On Tuesday, the film adds another accolade to its repertoire.

Within the highly competitive international category featuring 15 films which included 3 Indian films, “Kantara” from stood out, earning a special jury award. The prestigious recognition entails a certificate, a silver peacock, and a substantial cash prize of 1.5 million rupees.

Expressing his sentiments on the occasion, Rishab Shetty, the film’s director, remarked, ‘Last year, we visited the Goa International Film Festival for the film’s promotion. This time, our film not only participated in the international competition but also secured a special jury award. It’s a moment of pride for all of us.’

The film “Kantara” not only attained remarkable success in the previous year but also garnered acclaim from audiences in diverse languages due to its dubbed versions. Featuring performances by Rishab Shetty, Sapthami Gowda, Achyuth Kumar, Kishore, and others, the film’s music is composed by Ajaneesh Lokanath, while Aravind Kashyap handles the cinematography.
