The trailer of Hagga is quite captivating, both in its content and presentation. While many producers face challenging times, the talent and story of Hagga seem poised to overcome obstacles at the box office. The film stars the highly talented Anu Prabhakar, marking her 25th year in the film industry.
Anu Prabhakar’s film Hagga, in which she plays a unique role, is set to release on September 20. The trailer was launched on the anniversary of the release of Anu’s first film, and the team celebrated the occasion by honoring her. They marked the event by cutting a cake, and also performed the Seemantha ceremony for actress Harshika Poonachha, who is expecting a child soon.
Actresses Priyanka Upendra, Gayatri Prabhakar, Anu Prabhakar, and actor Raghu Mukherjee were also present at the event.
Anu Prabhakar shared, “I agreed to this film because of the story narrated by director Avinash. I usually don’t enjoy horror films, and I don’t watch them, but Avinash’s story intrigued me. His clarity and vision impressed me. Whatever he shared during narration, he successfully brought to life on screen. I’m happy that the film has turned out well. My shoots often started at 7 p.m. and went on until the early hours of the morning. It was tiring, especially since it took two hours to apply and remove my makeup. I have to thank my team for patiently standing by me.”
“Our teaser was very successful and trended for many days. I am confident this film will be a hit,” added Anu. Producer Raj Bharadwaj commented, “Anu Prabhakar has done an excellent job in the second half of the film, handling her role with great skill.”
“This is my first feature film after directing a short film produced by Raj Bharadwaj,” said director Avinash. “In Hagga, a rope is used as a weapon for good causes. It’s a horror-fantasy action thriller with a meaningful message and impressive visual effects. I envisioned Anu Prabhakar for the lead role because I felt no one else could do justice to it.”
Executive producer Dayal Padmanabhan emphasized that Hagga is a female-centric film, addressing a national issue that hasn’t been tackled in films before. “The second half of the movie has been handled well with the help of VFX. The producers didn’t compromise on quality, and we recently received offers for Hindi dubbing rights, but the producers decided to hold off, believing that even better opportunities will come.”
“Looking at Anu Prabhakar, you wouldn’t believe she’s been in the industry for 25 years; she looks as young as 25,” remarked Harshika Poonachha. “She’s an inspiration to all of us and a ‘titanic heroine’ in our eyes. Working on this film has been an incredible experience. The director knew exactly what he wanted, and the producers were generous and supportive throughout the process. The industry needs more producers like them.”
Veteran dubbing artist and actor Gayathri Prabhakar shared how her daughter Anu balanced both her film career and education. Priyanka Upendra, after releasing the trailer, praised the film’s glimpses and mentioned that she is a big fan of horror films.
