It seems another well-qualified youngster, Avinash, is making his foray into Kannada cinema with the technically impressive film ‘Hagga’.
Noted producer and director R. Chandru, along with producer K. Manju, jointly released the teaser of ‘Hagga’ at MMB Legacy on Sunday evening.
Produced by Raj Bharadwaj, a businessman dealing in gym equipment, under the Vasant Cine Creations banner, the film ‘Hagga’ is directed by Avinash N. and stars Anu Prabhakar, Harshika Poonacha, Venu, Tabala Nani, and others in prominent roles.
Speaking after the release of the teaser, director Avinash, a mechanical engineer who has made several short films, said, “Film direction is my dream. It is an action, horror, and fantasy genre film. In this film, ‘Hagga,’ a rope is the hero. How it connects to various characters is interesting. My dream has been fulfilled through the movie ‘Hagga.’ Anu Prabhakar, Venu, and Harshika Poonacha played the lead roles in this film, but ‘Hagga’ is the hero of our film. Although it is a horror genre film, it also carries an important message.”
“I have written the story and produced the film. Avinash has directed it. Thanks to all the dignitaries who have come to release the teaser and bless the team of ‘Hagga.’ Already, through the motion poster, ‘Rope’ is close to people’s minds. Now the teaser has been released,” said producer Raj Bharadwaj, adding that efforts are underway to release the film in August.
“When Avinash told me about the film, I liked my character very much. I am shown as a ‘superhero.’ He has also told me not to point out anything,” said Anu Prabhakar, thanking everyone for the opportunity and the guests for blessing ‘Hagga.’ She mentioned her previous out-of-the-box film ‘Devi’ and praised Director Avinash’s clarity in his work, saying he has the potential to shine well. “The makeup for me in this film took two hours, and the night shoot was filled with a lot of curiosity. My makeup by Ganga and Sunil made it very comfortable,” she added.
“I am a journalist in this film. I go to the village in search of something,” said Harshika Poonacha, who also drove a jeep in the film. She expressed disappointment at not having screen time with Anu in the film. “This is an edge-of-the-seat film. The film has 40-plus minutes of graphics,” said Harshika, who is pregnant and sought blessings for her new child at the event.
Tabala Nani, a senior actor known for his comedy roles and efficient writing, sees good fortune for the director and the film. He assured that Anu will get a new identity after this film. Actor Venu was very nervous during his address and thanked Tabala Nani for his help.
Eminent director and producer Dayal Padmanabhan is the executor of ideas for this film. His advice at the last stage of the film provided a new path for ‘Hagga.’
The film has music direction by Mathews Manu, cinematography by Cinetech Suri, editing by NM Vishwa, and dialogues by Manohar SP.
The cast includes Anu Prabhakar, Venu, Harshika Poonacha, Tabala Nani, Avinash, Bhavani Prakash, Sudha Belawadi, Priya Hegde, Miko Manju, Sanju Basaiah, Sadananda Kali, and others.
