The “Rank Star” of Kannada cinema, Gurunandan, who gained fame through the First Rank Raju series and is known for his soft and sensible films, is now taking on a different role. He will appear as a stand-up comedian in an untitled film that recently began shooting at the Bandi Mankalamma Temple.
Smt. Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar graced the muhurat ceremony, offering her best wishes and giving the first clap for the film. This project is the first production of Mandimane Talkies, titled “Production No. 1.”
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s special guests, Sri Venkatesh and Prakash Shetty of Gold Finch Hotel, were present at the launch event for Gurunandan’s new film.
Sumanth Gowda is making his directorial debut with this film, with Kiran Ravindranath composing the melodious songs. The cinematography is handled by Shiv Sena of Bheema fame, and Sarath Chakraborty has penned the dialogues.
In addition to Gurunandan in the lead role, Tapaswini Ponnachha, known for her work in Harikathe Alla Girikatha, will play the female lead. The movie also features a strong supporting cast, including Tabala Nani and Dharmanna.
The title of Production No. 1 will be announced soon. Meanwhile, Gurunandan has two other films, Raju James Bond and Happy Ending, ready for release.
