At the opulent Director’s Cut auditorium situated on Brigade Road (formerly Rex Theater), the buzz was the release of the trailer for the film ‘Gowri’ by Abhinaya Chakravarthy Kichcha Sudeepa.
For the sixty-plus seats, there was double the attendance. Everyone wanted to catch a glimpse of Kichcha Sudeepa, who looked gleeful and joyous throughout the event. His happiness was due to considering debutant Samarjith Lankesh a family member and his 25-year friendship with Indrajith Lankesh, the director and producer of ‘Gowri,’ known as the stylish director of Chandanavana.
Directed by Indrajit Lankesh and starring Samarjit Lankesh in the lead, ‘Gowri’ is set to release on August 15. Ahead of the release, the trailer of ‘Gowri’ has been released. Actor Kiccha Sudeep launched the trailer and wished the film crew. Celebrities like actress Priyanka Upendra, producers Ramesh Reddy, Sanjay Gowda, senior lawyer Shyam, and members of the film crew attended the event.
Speaking on the occasion, Sudeep said, “Indrajit and I are old friends. We used to play badminton together. I didn’t know he was Lankesh’s son. No one else in this world can be as happy as they are today. Samarjit’s success is not his alone; Indrajith’s success is also in it. Sanya is not only a good actress but also a good writer. I learned that during ‘Bigg Boss.’ Samarjeet and Sanya are eagerly waiting for this evening. Enjoy such evenings rather than the release. Life will not be the same after the movie’s release. You never know where it will take you. Be ready for that.”
“Sudeep and I have been friends for more than two decades. The days of playing shuttle with him are still vivid. Earlier, he acted in a special role in a film directed by me, but he did not receive any remuneration. I wondered what I could give him, thinking he had everything. I took a special gift for his daughter and went to his house, but Sudeep wouldn’t let me give it to him. They have supported me since the beginning. Today, the trailer of my son’s first film has been released. Thanks to them. Even today, they don’t take any gifts from me. So, I bought a special cricket bat from Sussex, England, for him, and he presented it to Sudeepa.”
Actor Samarjith and heroine Sanya Iyer expressed their happiness that Sudeep released the trailer of ‘Gowri’ and asked for support for their film, which releases on August 15. The innocence of Samarjith was evident, and he said, “Saniya Iyer gives whatever I ask for,” which erupted in huge laughter. Sudeep beautifully managed this innocence and said such innocence is the beauty of this evening.
Samarjith Lankesh and heroine Sanya Iyer are making their Chandanvan debut with ‘Gowri.’ Based on a true story, the movie stars Priyanka Upendra (in a special character), Akul Balaji, Sihi Kahi Chandru, Mykyamantri Chandru, ‘Kantara’ fame Manasi Sudhir, Sampath Maitreya, Chandu Gowda, and many others. AJ Shetty and Krishnakumar have done the cinematography for the film.
