On the national stage, the Goplixs OTT platform is gearing up to deliver better business opportunities and top-notch entertainment for audiences starting this May. While more details about this innovative platform will be revealed on March 8, the logo of Goplixs was officially unveiled at Sri Renukamba Digital Theater by Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) President Narasimhulu, Karnataka Film Producer Association (KFPA) President Umesh Banakar, and Srivatsa, a senior photojournalist and censor board member.
Speaking at the event, Pratibha Patwardhan, Regional Head of Goplixs, shared insights into the platform’s vision. She highlighted that Goplixs aims to focus on the culture and nativity of India, catering to diverse audiences across the country.
Pratibha also revealed the multilingual aspirations of Goplixs, which plans to establish a presence in various state capitals. “The proprietors of Goplixs, Vincy and Anitha, have ambitious goals. Already well-established in real estate, finance, and the gold business, this venture is an exciting addition to their business empire. Currently, the platform operates in Cochin, Delhi, and Hyderabad, and will soon expand to other Indian languages. To ensure quality content, a dedicated jury will oversee film selection, with the aim of spreading Indian culture globally. We are also venturing into web series production in the near future,” she said.
KFCC President Narasimhulu expressed delight over the letter ‘V’ in the Goplixs logo, noting its significance in his own entrepreneurial journey. He assured the new venture of his full support.
KFPA President Umesh Banakar encouraged Goplixs to invest in untouched Kannada films, emphasizing the platform’s potential to benefit emerging filmmakers. He noted that while revenue generation for OTT platforms can be slow, strong technical expertise and thorough preparation would yield successful outcomes.
Srivatsa, a photojournalist, censor board member, and National Jury member, underscored the importance of technical excellence in maintaining an OTT platform. His address highlighted the need for robust systems to sustain and grow such ventures.
