Ravi Basrur, currently one of the most sought-after music directors, has expanded his reach from the successful KGF series to Bollywood and Tollywood, lending his compositions to star-studded hero films. Emerging talents from his circle are carving out their niche in the Kannada film industry. Among them, Soochan Shetty, a member of Ravi Basrur’s team, steps into the director’s shoes for his debut venture.
Titled ‘God Promise’, Soochan Shetty’s maiden directorial project promises an exciting journey. With experience spanning acting, co-directing, and more in Ravi Basrur’s films like Kataka, Girmit, and Kadal, Soochan Shetty steps up to helm ‘God Promise’. Known for his roles in Pan India Kantara as forest guard Ravi and as the antagonist in Ravi Basrur’s Kadal, Soochan now assumes the role of a full-fledged director.
Maitri Productions, founded in 2016 with a vision to encapsulate our state’s culture on the silver screen, collaborates with Soochan Shetty to realize his directorial dream. ‘God Promise’ is produced by Maitri Manjunath under Maitri Productions.
Inspired by true events, ‘God Promise’ weaves a narrative of family and comedy. With cinematography by Guruprasad Narnad, known for his work in Kabja-Salaar films alongside AJ Shetty and Bhuvan Gowda, and music direction by Bharat Madhusudanan, a seasoned background scorer with over 400 films to his credit, including the KGF series, Love Mocktail-2, Hostel Boys Wanted, and Vikrant Rona. Editing responsibilities are helmed by Naveen Shetty, who brings his expertise from collaborating with renowned editors like KM Prakash and Ruthvik, among others.
Naveen Shetty, formerly part of Pratik Shetty’s team, spearheads the editing process for ‘God Promise’. The film’s production team is gearing up for shooting, set to commence in March.
