In the recently announced results of the Lok Sabha Elections, former Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy secured a comfortable victory from the Mandya Lok Sabha seat. This seat was previously won by Sumalatha Ambarish in the 2019 elections.
HD Kumaraswamy, a prominent figure in the Kannada cinema industry as a producer, exhibitor, and distributor, will now move to the new Parliament Bhavan. He will be accompanied by his brother-in-law, Dr. Manjunath, who won the Lok Sabha seat from the Bangalore Rural constituency. Dr. Manjunath, a renowned cardiologist, defeated DK Suresh by a significant majority.
Kannada superstar Dr. Shivarajakumar’s wife, Geetha Shivarajakumar, faced defeat in the Shivamogga Parliamentary seat against BY Raghavendra, the son of former Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa.
BY Raghavendra secured 778,721 votes, while Geetha Shivarajakumar received 535,006 votes. This marks the second time Geetha Shivarajakumar has lost the Lok Sabha seat from Shivamogga, having previously lost to BS Yediyurappa in 2014.
