The stylish director and producer of Kannada films, Indrajith Lankesh, is ensuring that no stone is left unturned for his handsome son Samarjith’s debut film, ‘Gauri’. He is working tirelessly, both in the making and the release of the film, utilizing all his creative energy.
After touring different districts of Karnataka and visiting colleges with the main actors, Samarjith and Sanya Iyer, the intelligent director Indrajith Lankesh announced the film’s release date at MES College Management College Vidya Vihar on Saturday. The event saw a huge turnout of students.
Using a novel strategy, Indrajith Lankesh announced the release date by inviting four students to wear jackets used by the hero Samarjith in the film. The students were then asked to search for a slip hidden in the jacket that revealed the release date.
When one of the students found the slip, the release date was revealed as August 15, 2024. The students and staff of the college were overjoyed. Indrajith Lankesh’s joy was palpable as he lifted the lady anchor, Sushmitha, for a song, surprising everyone, including his son Samarjith on the stage.
August 15 is also the famous Varamahalakshmi Festival day, followed by a few more holidays, making it a convenient time for the film ‘Gauri’ to perform well at the box office.
“Our ‘Gauri’ film team is traveling all over Karnataka. The encouragement given by the media and fans in each town has filled my heart. The film ‘Gauri,’ which has already reached people through its songs, will be released grandly across the state on August 15. Varamahalakshmi, Independence Day, Raksha Bandhan, and other holidays are celebrated during that time, so we chose August 15. As a viewer, I liked the movie very much. I believe our film will be appreciated by the audience as well,” said Indrajith Lankesh.
“As my father P. Lankesh said, only hard work yields good results. We are receiving positive responses to our film wherever we go. The film has succeeded with the cooperation of the film crew. The day is near when I will see the fruits of my many years of hard work,” disclosed Samarjith Lankesh. “On the sets, my father watched my shots carefully and appreciated my performance with happiness.”
“Sanya Iyer is surely going to be one of the good-looking heroines of Kannada cinema, which is evident from her performances so far. With a person like Indrajith Lankesh at the helm, everything is in the right direction. I have ample scope to express my acting ability,” she said with a smile.
