At the Municipal grounds in Ranebennur, located 300 kilometers away from Bangalore, a massive crowd gathered in anticipation of the moment when the celebrated star Darshan would take the stage. However, a cultural program had already been organized two hours earlier to entertain the people of Ranebennur before the launch of the ‘Garadi’ trailer.
The event began with BC Patil, a producer, actor, and politician, along with his family members, including Vanaja Patil, Srushti, Soumya, Sujay Belur, and his granddaughter, along with notable figures like Yogaraj Bhat, coming together to inaugurate the event by lighting a lamp.
A performance by local talent Soumya, followed by the song “Naa Divera Nanna Lovera,” set the stage. The program also featured song and dance performances dedicated to Lord Ganapathi, Garadi Nanjappa, and a tribute to veteran wrestlers, all in celebration of Kannada Rajyotsava Day on November 1.
Dhanu Master’s rendition of Kannada Rajyotsava songs, starting with “Huttidare Kannada Nadalli Hutbeku,” delighted the eager audience. The film’s main heroine, Sonal Monteiro, presented the female version of the song “Badavana Hrudaya,” and Sujay Belur showcased a dance performance to the film’s title song.
The arrival of Darshan at around 8.30 pm sent the crowd into a frenzy. Anushri, the event anchor, appealed to the police not to resort to using force on Darshan’s fans who had come from various parts of the state as the chaotic situation unfolded.
Producer BC Patil expressed his gratitude to the enormous gathering, emphasizing the close bond between Darshan and himself. Yogaraj Bhat later elucidated the significance of the ‘Garadi’ film, supported by an audiovisual presentation featuring Patil and Yogaraj Bhat. Sonal Monteiro, Sujay, Nishvika Naidu, Srushti Patil, and others conveyed their deep satisfaction with the grand production of ‘Garadi’ and the treatment it received.
On this occasion, Soorya regarded Darshan as ‘Devaru,’ and Darshan, showing great respect for Kannada Rajyotsava, introduced Desi Gowdru to the vast audience. He also mentioned Karthik, known as ‘Kaate,’ who inspired him to name his film ‘Kaatera,’ set to make a mark on the silver screen this year.
In the film, Darshan plays the role of Soorya’s elder brother, and his captivating presence for twenty minutes was truly remarkable. He emphasized the importance of patience in life and encouraged Soorya as the spotlight shifted to him. Darshan noted the significance of actors continuing to work in the film industry, as it provides employment and happiness to numerous families.
Darshan’s generosity was evident as he chose to have Soumya Patil, the daughter of BC Patil, open the trailer of ‘Garadi’ instead of doing it himself.
