What was initially planned to take place soon after the COVID-19 pandemic is finally happening now in the Kannada Film Industry. A series of rituals, including three homas—Ganapathi Homa, Subramanya Sarpa Shanti, and Mruthyunjaya Homa—will be performed on August 14th. These rituals are being organized by the Kannada Film Artists Association at Kalavidhara Bhavana.

Rockline Venkatesh, the Secretary of the Producers Association, stated, “The film industry has been facing numerous challenges. The idea for this ritual came after the COVID-19 pandemic, which brought about a lot of death and suffering in the Kannada film industry. For some reason, it didn’t happen earlier. Doddanna suggested a month ago that we should perform a pooja. Since August 14th is an auspicious day, we decided to perform these homas for the survival and prosperity of the film industry. We have invited everyone from the film industry to participate.”

There have been rumors that the pooja is being conducted specifically for the upcoming release of Challenging Star Darshan’s film. However, Rockline Venkatesh clarified, “This pooja is not being done for Darshan. If I wanted to do something for him, I would do it personally at my house or at his. This ritual is being organized by the association for the well-being of the entire film industry.”

Artists and technicians from the film industry will participate in the rituals from 8 a.m. until the afternoon. Senior actor Doddanna mentioned that they have received positive responses from industry personnel.
