Filmfare South made its entry to Bangalore for the first time. The event took place at Bengaluru International Exhibition Centre on 9th October 2022. This star-studded event was hosted by Ramesh Aravind and Diganth Manchale as they said Galileo wouldn’t have gotten inspired to invent the telescope if he was here right now as there are shining superstars right in front of the eyes together in the same place. The combined award function of the south film industry which included Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam was a special treat in itself.

The most emotional moment of the event was the announcement of Lifetime Achievement Award for Dr. Puneeth Rajkumar. Smt. Ashwini Puneeth Rajakumar was present but the award was received Power Star’s sister Poornima.

Honorary Award was presented to Chiranjivi Sarja, as wife Meghana Raj Sarja receives it was heart rending and to hear her say “Chiru your black lady is finally home!”

Jayant Kaikini expressed his happiness to receive the award for this time for a with a purpose unlike the usual well-known romantic/patho

Best Playback Singer (Female) Anuradha Bhat – Dheera Sammohagaara (Bichhugatti)

 Best Playback Singer (Male) Raghu Dixit – Maley Maley (Ninna Sanihake)

He expressed with his 20years of his career in multiple languages this will mark to be his first legit award for playback singing.

 Best Music Album Vasuki Vaibhav (Badava Rascal)

 Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Female) Umashree (Rathnan Prapancha)

Dhananjaya aka Rathnakara received the award on behalf of his mother Saroja (Umashree) at the event.

 Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Male) B Suresha (Act 1978)

 Best Actress Critics’ Milana Nagaraj (Love Mocktail)

While receiving the award Milana acknowledged the writer, director and her husband Darling Krishna for her role NidhiMa.

 Best Actress Critics’ Amrutha Iyengar (Badava Rascal)

 Best Actor Critics’ Darling Krishna (Love Mocktail)

On winning critics awards Darling Krishna said – Milana and himself are each others best critics.

 Best Film D Creations, Mansore (Act 1978)

Director of the movie Act 1978 Mansore dedicates this victory to Late. Actor Sanchari Vijay in his remembrance.

 Best Actor Leading Role Female Yagna Shetty (Act 1978)

 Best Actor Leading Role Male Dhananjaya KA (Badava Rascal)
