The popular and major literary works in Kannada, Mankuthimmana Kagga by noted litterateur Dr. D.V. Gundappa (DVG), published in 1943, are transformed to the big screen. Apparently, it is the childhood days of DVG, and the next part will deal with the masterpiece referred to as the Bhagavad Gita in Kannada. DVG Kagga is a collection of 945 poems, each in four lines. Some of these are in old Kannada – they are profound as well as poetic.

At a crowded gathering at Sri Chamundesware Studio, offering petals to the idol Chamundeswari and to the portrait of D.V. Gundappa, the trailer of Mankutimmana Kagga: Balyada Dinagalu was unveiled on Monday evening.

The film was produced by N. A. Shivakumar (makeup artist in Kannada cinema for a long time) and co-produced by Meena Shivakumar. It was recently released with great fanfare.
