Fans of the legendary actor and esteemed human being Dr. Vishnuvardhana, also known as Sahasa Simha of Kannada cinema, are disheartened by their unsuccessful efforts to secure 10 Guntas of land where the beloved ‘Daada’ was cremated on December 30, 2009.

The dream of securing 10 Guntas of land adjacent to Abhiman Studio for Dr. Vishnuvardhana’s fans has been dashed. The High Court has denied the petition to establish a memorial in his name.

The VSS Abhimani Dr. Vishnuvardhana Punyabhumi Trust filed a petition in the High Court, which was presided over by Justice NV Anjaria and KV Aravind.

Fans passionately appealed to retain the 10 Guntas of land at Kengeri Hobli Mylasandra village, survey No. 26, for creating a Dr. Vishnuvardhana Memorial. Despite discussions about a 2-acre memorial land in the past, and even after 15 years, no progress has been made. Consequently, Dr. Vishnuvardhana’s family members have consulted the Karnataka government to establish a memorial on four acres of land in Mysuru.

The High Court did not find any public interest in the petition. Although the association is liable for a penalty, the High Court noted, they are closing this appeal patiently.
