Here is a title in Kannada cinema ‘Digvijaya’ that is also the title of a popular daily newspaper visual media. There was also a film in Kannada of the same title in 1987 starring Dr Ambarish, Shanker Nag and Dr Srinath.
Now an editor by profession and See You, Flop Director and Kartha director Durga PS is attempting ‘Digvijaya’ of his career too. It is the tale of a news reporter. He can make or break anything. A reporter with the help of a mad fellow solves the farmer’s loan issue in three days time. How does he do it, what is his strategy and so we have to watch it on the silver screen.
The protagonist’s friend – a mentally sick person whose parents are also from a farmer’s family. But they had committed suicide due to pressure of loan and crop failure.
This JP Entertainment film got a U certificate from the regional censor board recently without any cuts. This film procured two awards at the Goa Film Festival. It is set for release in June. Jayaprabhu R Lingayath, Arun Sukdar, Harish RC are joint producers of this socially relevant film.
Durga PS besides doing the direction has written story, screenplay, dialogues, lyrics, edited the film.
Jayaprabhu Ataga Lingayat is male protagonist in the film. Sneha is the female lead. Suchindra Prasad, Patre Nagaraj, Honnavalli Krishna, Honnavalli Srikanth, Killer Venkatesh, Shivakumar Aradhya and others are in the cast.
Durga PS shot for the film in Bengaluru, Mandya and Mangaluru surroundings for 30 days that includes four action portions and five songs. Harsha composed music, Veenus Murthy worked behind camera, Super Subbu stunts and Jaggu Master dance forms the remaining technical team of ‘Digvijaya’.
