The trailer of the movie “Di”, produced under the banner of V.D.K. Cinemas and directed by Vinay Vasudev, who also plays the lead role, was recently released. The trailer has already created a lot of curiosity, and the film is set to release on May 16. Veteran actor Mandya Ramesh unveiled the trailer and wished the team a successful run. “There are three key reasons why we titled our film ‘Di.’ First, Kichcha Sudeepa, whom I’m a huge fan of. Second and third, two of my mentors, whose names also include the letter ‘Di.’ In the film, the hero’s name is Deepu and the heroine’s name is Disha Ramesh. For all these reasons, we named the film ‘Di.’ It’s not the English ‘The’—it’s the Kannada ‘Di’.
Around 80% of the film has been shot in forest regions, including Devarayana Durga and Devaramane, both of which also have ‘Di’ in their names. I have written the story and screenplay, directed the film, and played the lead role. Thanks to the support of the entire team, the film has turned out well. “When Vinay narrated the story to me, I really liked it. After seeing the teaser, it was even better than expected. I’m happy to have worked with such a good team, and I’m glad about my role too,” said heroine Disha Ramesh.
Actress Harini Srikanth, actors Nagendra Aras, Dolla Sharan, Kalarathi Mahadev, cinematographer Allen Bharat, editor Siddarth R. Nayak, and music director U.M. Steven Satheesh, among others, also spoke about the movie.
The film “Di”, which will hit screens on May 16, is being distributed across Karnataka by Vijay Films.
