Sandalwood will witness a major clash on December 6, as two big films—Pushpa 2 and Dheera Bhagat Roy—are set to release on the same day. The makers of Dheera Bhagat Roy have officially announced their release date, with the film aiming to compete directly with the much-awaited Pushpa 2.
The announcement has created a stir, with both films set for a showdown in Karnataka. The team behind Dheera Bhagat Roy has made it clear that they are challenging Pushpa 2 for supremacy on this date. “We are not concerned about any competition. December 6 will be a defining moment for Kannada cinema,” said the film’s director, Karnan.
In response to the distributors of Pushpa 2, the team behind Dheera Bhagat Roy has warned them of a strong reaction from Kannada audiences. “We will not tolerate any arrogance,” said Bhaskar Prasad, an activist supporting the film.
The film is being marketed as a new chapter for Kannada cinema, with the team confident that it will make an impact. “If people are comparing this to films like Jai Bhim and Kaatera, that shows the level of quality we’ve achieved,” said the filmmakers. The film’s trailer has generated buzz, and the team is hopeful it will resonate well with the local audience.
Dheera Bhagat Roy stars Rakesh Dalavayi as the lead actor, with newcomer Sucharita playing the female lead. The film also features actors like Sharath Lohithashwa, Neenasam Ashwath, and Praveen Gowda HC. Music is composed by Poorna Chandra Tejaswi, with Selfam John handling cinematography. Karnan is credited with writing and directing the film.
The film is produced under the banners of White Lotus Entertainment and Sri Om Cine Entertainers and will be released statewide on December 6.
