The latest Kannada film, ‘Dharani,’ is shaping up around the intriguing dynamics of hen fighting, with a strong emphasis on the narrative rooted in the local backdrop. Sudhir Shanubhog, known for his previous work in genuine romantic cinema, has shifted gears towards a pure commercial mass film with ‘Dharani,’ featuring a total of five intense fight sequences, each presenting unique adventure scenarios.

Director Sudhir Shanubhog delves into the film’s premise, emphasizing that while the central theme revolves around hen fighting, ‘Dharani’ introduces novel concepts yet to be explored. Drawing a comparison with his debut film, “Ananthu vs Nusrat,” which had only one fight, he points out that ‘Dharani’ boasts five distinct fight sequences, each intricately woven into the narrative, offering diverse flavors. Celebrating the lead actor Manoj’s birthday, the ‘Dharani’ poster has been unveiled, featuring a captivating design by nationally renowned artist T.F. Hadimani. The poster showcases hero Manoj on one side and a fierce-looking chicken prepared for battle on the other, creating a visually striking impact.

The musical score for “Dharani” is crafted by Shashank Seshagiri, and the film, produced under the A Cube Films banner, features cinematography by Arun Suresh. The female lead, portrayed by newcomer Raviksha Shetty, shares the screen with Manoj. The cast also includes Sampath Maitreya, Mahantesh of “French Biryani” fame, Spandana Prasad, Sathyaraj, and more.
