‘We have heard the saying “Man proposes and God disposes.” Now, it seems that God has proposed in the form of the silver screen adaptation of ‘Devara Kanasu’. The film’s trailer was released by Smt Ashwini Puneeth Rajakumar, while the PRK songs were also unveiled. What makes this film, ‘DK’, even more intriguing is its remarkable journey from the Cannes Festival to over 30 festivals worldwide. During the event, a pencil sketch of Dr. Rajakumar and Dr. Parvathamma Rajakumar, created by artist Murali Raj, was presented to Smt Ashwini Puneeth Rajakumar.
While we have heard of Zubin Paul’s composition and background scores for films, this time he has delivered a beautiful song called ‘Beladondu Saguthide…’. Another notable performance comes from Tanusri, a strong participant in Saregamapa, who renders the soulful song ‘Re Re…’. The Gangamma Devi song also impresses with its rendition in this film, and the music is composed by Sandy.
Directed and written by Suresh Lakkur, ‘Devara Kanasu’ showcases his extensive knowledge of cinema gained over decades in the industry. Having studied at the New York Film Academy and worked as an executive producer on several films, he aims to deliver a message-oriented family drama. Despite featuring a cycle as part of the film, there is something more to look forward to in the climax, according to the director.
Based on a short story by Sunil Ram, an engineering graduate who worked under Mysskin, ‘Devara Kanasu’ promises to resonate with audiences of all backgrounds. The film, which depicts the struggles and aspirations of children, has received a U certificate from the regional censor board.
Scheduled for release on July 21, the film stars Master Deepak as the protagonist, along with Amoolya, Arushi, Mack Mani, and others in the cast. ‘Devara Kanasu’ is produced by Jaya Kumar.’
