Deepak Aras, a well-known producer, tour organizer, and director in the Kannada film industry, passed away at the age of 42 due to kidney failure. He breathed his last on Thursday, October 17, 2024, around 7 PM, after undergoing dialysis and other medical treatments. Sadly, the interventions were not successful.
Deepak Aras, who was also the elder brother of noted actress Amoolya, leaves behind his grieving family, including his wife and two children. He was recognized for his contributions to the Sandalwood film industry, having produced and directed films such as Manasology and Sugar Factory.
Sugar Factory, released on November 24, 2023, starred Darling Krishna and Sonal Monteiro. Although Sugar Factory marked his return to Kannada cinema after a 10-year hiatus, the film did not meet his expectations at the box office. His earlier film Manasology featured Amoolya and Rakesh.
Amoolya, who gained fame as a child actress before transitioning into lead roles, shared a close bond with her brother. She often expressed pride in his achievements. Deepak’s passing is a significant loss for her and the family.
The cremation was held on Friday, October 18, in Bengaluru.
