Karavali talents are making a strong impact in Sandalwood. With the belief that a story suitable for all eras can definitely attract audiences, the Tulu film “Daskath” was brought before the viewers. Now, the team is all set to release this film in Kannada on May 9 across the state. Regarding this, the team held a press meet by launching the Kannada trailer.
Speaking about the film, director Aneesh Poojari Venoor said, “I emerged from the 2015 Zee Comedy reality show. Along with a group of my friends, we made short films and web series. Later, with the intent of making a film, we prepared extensively and began this film titled ‘Daskath,’ which means ‘Signature.’ This movie shows how much villagers struggle for a single signature. It depicts how a single signature can create chaos. We’ve made an effort to subtly portray the friction between the rich, the poor, and officials, and how life unfolds amidst it. Such incidents are likely to happen in everyone’s life. Our Tulu film ‘Daskath,’ shot around coastal areas, completed a successful 70-day run. It has also been screened in various parts of the country as well as in Canada, Nigeria, Dubai, and many more countries are yet to come.
After watching our trailer, Hattrick Hero Shivarajkumar, actor Sriimurali, actor Raj B. Shetty, and several other film artists and technicians appreciated it. Even film lovers, stars, and technicians who watched our movie praised it. Notably, our film was screened at this year’s Bengaluru International Film Festival and received much appreciation, winning the third-best film award. All of this has brought us great joy. We want everyone to watch our film, so we decided to release it statewide on May 9. We seek your love and support,” he said.
Producer Jagadeesh N. Arebannimangala, who is dubbing and releasing the film in Kannada, said, “As a gram panchayat president, I understand the joys and struggles of rural life and have worked on solving them. I saw the teacher’s role in this film through one of our boys. I invited the director and watched the full film. Though I don’t understand Tulu, I liked the emotions. As a local government official, it beautifully showcases how innocent villagers suffer. That’s why we planned to release this film in Kannada. We seek everyone’s support.”
Lead actor Dheekshith said, “This is my first Kannada film. I’ve already done three Tulu films. I play a character named Shekhar, and people have liked my role. Please watch and support our Kannada film.” Lead actress Bhavya Poojari said, “I’ve done minor roles in serials and films before. This is the role of a village girl. We hope for your love and support for our film.” Music director Samarthan S. Rao said, “This film has three songs and three bits. Our team has worked really hard. The songs have turned out beautifully.”
Already made in Tulu, this superhit film “Daskath,” which saw successful screenings all over Tulu Nadu, is now presented in Kannada by former minister Krishna J. Palemar under the banner of Seventy Seven Studios, produced by Raghavendra Kudva. Aneesh Poojari Venoor of Comedy Kiladigalu fame has written the story and screenplay and directed the film.
