After spending over 130 days in prison on charges related to the Renukaswamy murder case and over 40 days on interim bail for medical reasons, the Challenging Star, Darshan, has finally been granted regular bail along with others on December 13, 2024.

Along with Darshan, other accused in the case—including Pavithra Gowda, Nagaraj, Anu Kumar, Lakshman, and Pradoosh Rao—have also been granted regular bail.

Darshan was charged in connection with the murder of Renukaswamy, who had allegedly been sending obscene messages to Pavithra Gowda. He was arrested on June 11 this year and placed in judicial custody at Parappana Agrahara Jail in Bengaluru. Following a viral photograph showing the actor relaxing with other inmates, he was later shifted to Bellary Central Jail.

On October 30, the High Court granted interim bail to Darshan to undergo surgery for back pain. Now, the High Court has granted regular bail to the actor.

While pronouncing the order, Justice S. Vishwajith Shetty stated, “Petitions allowed.”
