It is a make or break for eminent music composer, writer, actor and director V Manohar as he returns to direction after 23 years of gap. The last one he had directed was ‘Indradhanush’.
For this ‘Darbar’ director cum music director V Manohar has taken all care and affection. It is something more than ‘Vanavas’ in direction. The film set for release on Friday has been made at a cost of Rs. Crores – in the village backdrop for the story of hero and producer Satish, director Manohar has given all ingredients of a commercial cinema. I was directing music for the dream of other directors but directing is my dream that is coming on the silver screen, he says. I have cleverly utilized the resources provided by producer cum hero Satish. It is an honest attempt. Chandan Shetty song of hero introduction is released on Tuesday – this also explains the qualities of the hero of the film stated Manohar.
Rib tickler in the film is Santosh – he creates kirik from his character. What happens when you take money and vote? This film has an answer. He has immensely liked the quality of work of director Manohar. It is a situational comedy and sure shot winner he opined.
Huli Karthik is another comedy actor who is not in his regular role. I am the cruelest person in this film. It is so villainous that one does not expect it.
With a tinge of tension producer cum hero Satish says the response from technical shows, the travel he made in places like Mysuru, Channapatna, Davanagere, Mandya and other places. The tableau of ‘Darbar’ and interaction gave a wonderful response, says Satish.
Satish is also wondering why audience attendance is not there for the good quality films. We have one such and I make a humble appeal to come and watch. I have the utmost satisfaction, he says. Jahnavi female lead is making debut and has something strong to perform in the film. She comes to the village for vacation and later stands as the backbone to the protagonist.
Darbar is produced by BN Shilpa, Mass Madha, Vinod handled three stunts, MN Lakshmi Devi, Ashok and others are in the cast. Three songs are already popular today. One of the songs is sung by Upendra, for the duet song the lines of Jayanth Kaikini are also scoring well in the digital media.
