The Celebrity Shuttle Badminton League (CSBL) Season 1 was officially launched at a private hotel with the unveiling of its trophy and logo. The event was organized by Stellar Studio & Event Management in association with PRK Audio. Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar and badminton player Srikanth Kidambi unveiled the logo and trophy. The event also marked the 50th birth anniversary of late actor Puneeth Rajkumar.
Several dignitaries, including MLCs Govindaraju and Sharavana (Sai Gold Palace), actor Aniruddh Jatkar, actress Ragini Dwivedi, producer S. R. Govindu, and journalist Sadashiva Shenoy, were present.
Event organizer Chetan Surya stated that for the past two years, they had been organizing a badminton tournament under the name Appu Cup. This year, it has been expanded into an Inter-State Celebrity Shuttle Badminton League, with teams from Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Kerala. More states are expected to participate in future editions.
The four teams in CSBL Season 1 are Karnataka Warriors, Chennai Super Stars, Kerala Rockers, Telugu Fighters
Celebrity players who attended the event included Pramod Shetty, Ravi Chetan, Manoranjan Ravichandran, and Vikram Ravichandran (Karnataka Warriors); cricketer Shivakumar, actors Vikranth (CCL Captain) and Bharath, and playback singer B. R. Krishna (Chennai Super Stars); actors Sharath and Nitish (Telugu Fighters); and producer Manjunath and actors Santosh and Rajeev Pillai (Kerala Rockers).
The first season of CSBL is scheduled to take place in June.
