The much-anticipated movie Congratulations Brother, which created a buzz on social media with its popular dialogue of the same name, has completed its shoot as scheduled. The film, which began production three months ago, has now entered an intense post-production phase. The first song is set to be released in Dubai next month. While the film boasts several fresh talents, veteran actor Supreme Hero Shashikumar plays a crucial role. The cast and crew shared insights about the movie during a press meet.
Produced by Prashanth Kallur under the banners of Kallur Cinemas & Pen N Paper Studios, the film is directed by Pratap Gandharva. Renowned filmmaker Hari Santhosh has penned the story and served as the creative head. The lead role is portrayed by young actor Rakshith Nag, with Sanjana Das and Anusha playing the female leads. Harish Reddy has co-produced the film, while Srikant Kashyap serves as the executive producer.
Speaking first, writer and creative head Hari Santhosh shared “Nowadays, there’s a situation where men struggle to find love. In such a scenario, when a guy finds himself with two women in his life, everyone says, ‘Congratulations Brother!’ That’s the core of our story. Several members from our Pen N Paper Studios team have contributed to the writing. Rakshith Nag plays the lead, while Sanjana Das and Anusha are the heroines. Shashikumar sir plays the protagonist’s father. Filming was completed within the planned schedule, with shoots held in Karwar, Bengaluru, and other locations over 45 days. I personally wrote the story, and when Prashanth Kallur insisted that I be a part of the team, I took on the role of creative head. The film has shaped up well, and we plan to launch the first song in Dubai next month.”
Veteran actor Shashikumar emphasized the importance of meticulous planning in filmmaking “Proper scheduling is essential for smooth production. Completing shoots on time benefits the producers. When we entered the industry, everything was well-planned, and such discipline should be maintained in cinema. In this film, I portray the protagonist’s father. When Hari Santhosh narrated the story, I found it compelling. I believe audiences will love the movie.”
Producer Prashanth Kallur, reflecting on his journey, stated “I’ve co-produced a few films, but this is my first full-fledged production. More producers should come forward to support Kannada talent. Director Pratap Gandharva has completed filming as per the planned schedule, and the movie has turned out beautifully thanks to the team’s cooperation.”
Director Pratap Gandharva, marking his debut, expressed gratitude “Hari Santhosh’s story and support helped us complete the film on time. Editing is in progress, and if everything goes as planned, we aim for a June release.” Lead actor Rakshith Nag, who has previously worked in television serials, shared “This is my debut as a hero. I’ve also been part of Hari Santhosh’s writing team. The film explores what happens when two women enter a man’s life.”
Actress Sanjana Das described her role “I play a bold and independent woman. It’s a well-written character, and I am excited about how it has shaped up.” Actress Anusha, also making her debut, added “This is my first film. I was selected through an audition. The film is content-driven, and I am confident the audience will appreciate it.”
Other key contributors, including actors Rakshith Kapu, Sudarshan, and Chetan Durga, cinematographer Guru, executive producer Srikant Kashyap, and music director Suraj Jois, also shared their experiences.
